. . . and now we have a Harold and Maude type situation. The little naked boy is undressing the old lady. Clearly, this is symbolic of Iowa's appreciation of all the hard work its women folk endured while their men were away at war. It's hard getting undressed by toddlers when you're all alone on the homestead.
