Interestingly enough, if you care, the Aztec Ruins are not Aztec at all but an ancestral Chaco culture. The park is named for the nearby town of Aztec, NM. It is also a World Heritage Site and has been since 1987. ...and you thought reading our blog wouldn't teach you anything useful...
