Our tour guide made up many stalag-____ jokes (stalaglight, stalagpipe, etc), but apparently stalagflats such as this one were actually named by scientists. How clever. They form when the cavern is filled with mud and the drippings have nowhere else to go, and then at some point the mud is cleared. Cool.
